Do I need extended warranty for Plasma TV Panasonic Viera 46 inch that I bought 2 days ago
Hi There ..l am desperately trying to weigh in the pros and cons to
purchase the extended 3 yr warranty that will ocst me $400. Manufacturer
warranty is only for 1 yr. Help!
A study was done on reliability on Flat screen TV is & LCD &
plasma scored an amazing failure rate of less than 3% compared with 14% of
RPTV's. So for every 100 flat screen TV is less than 3 will fail.
Now the manufacturer warranty is normally 12 months to 18 months, so all
you would be paying for is an extended 18 months. Now if you pay with ur
credit card, some cards automatically extend the warranty up to four years when you use their card (check with the credit company). So my answer would be No.
The answer depends on how much you paid for the TV. If the
warranty costs more than the TV there is no point other wise you have
nothing to loose in getting an extended warranty which is just an
assurance that if your TV breaks you will save money rather than having to
pay for a replacement.
Yes. I repair flat-screens, mostly Vizio, HP, Samsung and
Polaroid. They all regularly break, especially the plasmas (versus LCD).
Get a warranty for as long as possible.
not a bad idea for plasma as the bulbs do burn out, and they
don't even work at certain altitudes
but yes , i'm part of the crowd that thinks plasma looks superior to lcd
just an fyi, 50 inch Lcd is and HD projectors are starting at $800 dollars
on google shopping now
i say no.
yes
no
